Hi, I’m Jenya
I’ve been dancing and teaching Pole Heels for over 10 years.
For years, I also ran a dance shoe showroom, helping dancers choose their next pair. Between teaching, dancing and running the store, I’ve seen more platform heels than I could ever count.
Like many dancers, I used to think I needed one more pair.
The funny thing is, no matter how many pairs I owned, I was always dancing in the same two and buying them again when they wore out.
One pair of sandals + one pair of boots.
I wanted sandals that felt secure, boots that could survive endless training sessions, materials that wouldn’t stretch after a few months, black platforms that wouldn’t instantly show every scratch, eyelets instead of hooks, reliable zippers, soles with the right amount of grip, platforms that are stable in a bevel.
I wanted shoes that could handle heel clacks, edge work, tricks and long sweaty hours in the studio, and still earn a permanent place in your dance bag.
Maybe it’s the immigrant in me, but now I prefer owning fewer things and using them often.
AlterHour grew from that idea.
Every model is shaped by years of experience.
I hope AlterHour becomes one of those pairs you end up using all the time, the workhorse you always reach for.
